Run a happy hour on your subathon

Multiplier, duration, scheduling, events covered, minimums and the overlay badge.

What a happy hour is

A happy hour is a window of time during which the events you choose are worth more. If a sub adds 5 minutes and you start a ×2 happy hour, it adds 10 for as long as the window lasts.

Nothing is multiplied until you start one: by default your timer behaves exactly as usual.

Start your first happy hour

  1. In the menu, open 🎉 Happy Hour.
  2. Pick your Multiplier: ×2 by default, up to ×10.
  3. Pick the Duration: 15, 30 or 60 minutes, or any value you like.
  4. Tick the events it covers, all subscriptions for example.
  5. Click 🎉 Start the happy hour.

It starts at once and stops by itself at the end of the duration. It shows at the top of the page, and a reminder appears on your dashboard.

Choosing the events

The list is a three-level tree, so you never tick fifteen boxes by hand:

  • All events ticks everything at once.
  • One box per platform: Twitch, Kick, YouTube, donations, sales.
  • One box per event, with a middle level for subscriptions that ticks the three tiers in one go.

A subscription tier covers subs, re-subs and gifted subs alike: you do not have to handle them separately.

Pushing one event in particular

Each event accepts its Own multiplier, which replaces the general one. It is made for steering your community: ×2 on everything, but ×3 on T3 subs for instance.

Setting a minimum

Bits, donations, Super Chats and sales accept a Minimum. Below it, the event still adds its normal time, it simply gets no bonus.

An example: a ×2 happy hour on bits with a minimum of 500. A 100-bit cheer adds its usual time; a 500-bit cheer doubles it.

Scheduling ahead

Instead of Now, pick Schedule and give the date and time. It is read in your own time zone, the one your browser reports.

The happy hour starts and ends on its own: you do not need to be at your screen, or even to have the site open.

You can announce it with Overlay announcement, from 5 to 60 minutes ahead.

What your viewers see

  • A badge on the timer overlay: 🎉 ×2 with the time left, appearing at the start and going away at the end. Before the start, it shows the announcement countdown.
  • The added-time bubble spells out the bonus: +10 min (×2).

The badge is on by default. You can turn it off in Customize if you would rather announce it your own way.

While the timer is paused

The Only while the timer is running option suspends the bonus while your timer is paused: events then add their normal time. Without it, the bonus applies during pauses too.

Edit, stop, delegate

  • Edit: the pencil reopens the happy hour in the form. Once it has started its start time no longer moves, but you can still change its duration, its multiplier and its events.
  • Stop: it ends immediately. A scheduled one that has not started is simply cancelled.
  • Delegate: an editor with the Start / pause right can start and stop your happy hours from Shared with me.

What is never multiplied

  • Time you add by hand: quick add, removing time, and setting the current time.
  • Events that arrive before or after the window, even by seconds.
  • Events below the end threshold in Set Timer, which add no time at all.

Re-adding a missed event from Add Time, however, counts as the real event: the multiplier does apply.

Max time and the end date still apply: a happy hour never pushes past them.

The multiplier used is recorded on each event, so your statistics stay right, and deleting an event removes exactly the time it really added, bonus included.
