Subathon timer for YouTube

Connect your YouTube channel with your Google account and Marathon-Timer follows the live chat of your own stream. Super Chats, Super Stickers, new members and gifted memberships each add the time you choose to the countdown.

Free — no subscription, no commission on your subs or donations.

How it works on YouTube

Connect your YouTube channel with your Google account and Marathon-Timer follows your live chat: new members, membership gifts and Super Chats add time to the countdown automatically. Nothing to install, and you can revoke the access whenever you want.

You decide how much time each event adds, and the countdown does the rest. Everything is visible live on your OBS overlay, and the full history stays in your dashboard once the subathon is over.

How the YouTube connection really works

Your Google account, read-only

You sign in with Google and pick the channel you stream with. Marathon-Timer only asks for read access: it never posts, never moderates, and never reads your private messages. You can revoke it at any time from your Google account or from the Connections page.

Super Chats and Super Stickers by amount

A Super Chat or a Super Sticker adds time according to its amount, with your own rate per unit of currency, exactly like a donation. A small message and a large one are not worth the same, and your rate card decides how much.

Memberships, including gifted ones

Every new member adds time. When a viewer gifts memberships, the whole batch is credited to the person who gave them, so a gift of twenty counts twenty times, and once. Milestone messages from existing members add nothing: they are not a payment.

Your live stream, found on its own

When your timer is running, Marathon-Timer finds your live stream and starts reading its chat. YouTube also notifies us when your channel goes live, so the reading starts without you pasting any link.

YouTube next to Twitch and Kick

Streaming on YouTube and Twitch at the same time? Super Chats, memberships, subs and bits all land on the same countdown, so your viewers on both platforms push the same clock.

What you get

⏱️

Real-time countdown

The clock extends the moment an event lands on YouTube — no refresh, no delay, no manual adjustment.

🎥

OBS overlay

A transparent browser source you drop into OBS or Streamlabs Desktop, with 15 themes, custom colours, fonts and CSS.

🎯

Sub & donation goals

Goal boards next to your timer, resetting daily, weekly, monthly or for the whole subathon — each with its own overlay.

Set up in three steps

  1. Connect YouTube

Sign in with Twitch, then link your YouTube account from the Connections page. It takes about a minute.

  2. Set your rate card

Choose the time added per subscription tier, per 100 bits and per unit of currency donated — plus a maximum duration if you want one.

  3. Paste the overlay into OBS

Copy your overlay link, add a browser source in OBS at 800×200, and the timer is live on your stream.

YouTube subathon timer — FAQ

Is the YouTube subathon timer free?

Yes, completely. No subscription, no premium tier and no commission on your subs or donations — the whole tool is free.

Do I need a bot or an extension on YouTube?

No. The connection uses the official API, so there is nothing to install on your channel and no password to hand over. You can revoke the access at any time.

Can I combine YouTube with other platforms?

Yes. Twitch, YouTube and Kick subs, plus Streamlabs, TipeeeStream, StreamElements and Ko-fi donations, can all feed the same countdown at the same time.
