Looking for a TriBathon alternative?

TriBathon and Marathon-Timer do the same job: a subathon countdown fed by your subs, bits and donations. The difference is in what is free, how many languages you get, and which donation services land on the clock.

The short answer

TriBathon is a good timer with a free tier and a paid plan at €2.99 a month (or €24.99 a year) for goals, analytics over 90 days, revenue, top donors, export and the detailed recap. Marathon-Timer has all of that for free, with no paid plan and no commission.

Marathon-Timer also reads more donation services (TipeeeStream, Ko-fi and NineStore on top of Streamlabs and StreamElements), runs in 14 languages instead of 2, and adds things TriBathon does not list: editors, a Stream Boss, a time multiplier and channel points.

Where Marathon-Timer is ahead

  • Goals, statistics, revenue, top contributors, export and the shareable recap are free.
  • 14 interface languages, the overlay and public pages included.
  • TipeeeStream, Ko-fi and NineStore donations on the same clock, with duplicate protection.
  • Editors: a mod or co-host runs the timer with their own account and the rights you give them.
  • A Stream Boss, a time multiplier that depends on the time left, Twitch channel points, Streamlabs loyalty points and Kick KICKs.

Where TriBathon is ahead

  • A large blog of guides in English and Spanish.
  • If it is already set up and you only need what its free tier covers, there is no reason to rush a switch.

Switching takes a few minutes

  1. Sign in with Twitch

Your timer is created straight away. YouTube, Kick and the donation services connect afterwards, from Connections.

  2. Copy your rate card

Set the seconds per sub, bit and donation in Time Settings, using the same values as before so your community sees no difference.

  3. Swap the browser source in OBS

Replace the TriBathon URL with your Marathon-Timer overlay link, and pick a theme in Customize.

  4. Set the current time

In the middle of a subathon, enter the time left in Add Time so the countdown carries on exactly where it was.

Frequently asked questions

Is Marathon-Timer really free?

Yes. There is no paid plan and no commission on subs or donations. Goals, statistics, export and the recap are included for everyone.

Can I move a running subathon from TriBathon?

Yes. Set the time left by hand in Add Time, then swap the browser source in OBS. Past events stay in TriBathon; the new ones count from the switch.

Does Marathon-Timer work with YouTube and Kick?

Yes, YouTube members, Super Chats and gifts, and Kick subs, gifted subs, follows and KICKs land on the same countdown as Twitch.

Do my mods keep their commands?

Yes. Chat commands let your moderators add or remove time, pause the timer and start a happy hour from the Twitch, Kick or YouTube chat, within the limits you set.
